Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean-
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down-
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

i hope that wherever you are, your weekend was a glorious as it was here.
mr c and i started off the long weekend with a train ride into the city accompanied by about 1000 , screaming villanova students who were fired up for the first game of the season against temple. the game was played at lincoln field where the pa eagles duke it out and at the risk of sounding like i have one leg in some jorts...that is an amazing stadium!
the train wreck...yes that is cheese on the mouth and fingers |
sat am we were back downtown to see the reading terminal market http://www.readingterminalmarket.org/ . farmers markets, in my opinion, are fabulous…big small….doesn’t matter. fresh produce, local farmers, cheese, honey, pastries, pretzels, great grub, people watching, flowers and more…they are a smorgus board for the senses and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. mr c had about the best version of a cheese steak i have ever laid lips on and i had one of my all time favorite foods, a scrumptious crêpe…so Parieeeee :).
i'll have one of ummm......everything |
sunday we drove to new hope on the delaware river and i literally had a toothache from the cuteness of it all.
yesterday it was back to work on the lil house and this time, we slaved away in the back yard…there was and still remains a lot to be done but it feels fresh and with the pond running, is quite the little zen garden.
